About the Keynote Speaker:

Christine King Farris is a member of an historic civil rights family. She serves as Associate Professor of Education and Director of the Learning Resources Center at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, Mrs. Farris is Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Non Violent Social Change, Inc. She is also Founder and Chair of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Child Development Center. Her numerous local, state and national activities include the International Reading Association, Georgia Governor's Education Reform Commission, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday Commission, NAACP, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Buckhead Cascade Links, Church Life Committee of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Advisor to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site.
